About St. Helena Calendar Faculty Photo Gallery

Hi! My name is Helena! I am a grand traveler! I come from Kyoto, Japan. I started my travels when a group of ambassadors from the People to People program were visiting my home town of Kyoto. On July 23, 2009, I decided to hop a ride with the delegation. They were getting ready to return to their home in the United States of America. On the next day we arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States. I was so excited, nervous, and oh so happy to be here. I have decided to make Saint Helena School, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, my permanent home. All of the staff and children here are so nice to me. Everyone here has promised to let me travel with them whenever and wherever they go. I hope to travel both near and far. I know that many of the families here travel to the countries that they come from. I will make sure that we take lots of pictures and someone will help me to post them to my website. I would also like to visit some of the schools that Saint Helena students attend when they graduate from here. They go to all different high schools and colleges. Please enjoy my stories and photos from my travels. Come back often to see where I have traveled to. You can even invite me to go on a journey to meet you and travel in and around your community. Someone here at Saint Helena will help me to get to you to start our journey. I look forward to learning, experiencing, and sharing other people’s cultures and ways of life. ARIGATO! (That means “Thank You” in my native language – Japanese!)

Where Helena has visited!

In October, Arielle took Helena with her to the Poconos.  Helena enjoyed miniature golfing, swimming, and hanging out in the great outdoors!

Helena enjoyed the weekend with her friends Jada and Mya.  They had a wonderful time playing together.  Jada drew this wonderful picture of Helena!
