To: All Parents/Families of St. Helena School Students
From: The Parent Council
Subject: New Members/Volunteers

We are asking each of you to consider becoming more involved in your child/children’s school. We currently have 8 parents/relatives who serve on the parent council. The parent council co-ordinates the school fundraisers such as the candy sale in the fall and Race for Education in the spring. We also host the spaghetti dinner in November, a pancake breakfast in February and have a thank you breakfast for teachers, staff, police, firefighters and crossing guards during Catholic Schools week in January. Additionally, we want to organize Saturday activities for the students once per month during the school year so that they may gather in their school and have fun with their classmates.

All of this requires time and effort to organize. We need more help if we are to continue to carry out these activities which benefit the school and all of our children. Please consider becoming involved either through serving on the Parent Council or helping out with the Saturday activities.

Parent council meets on the first Wednesday of every month from October through June from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the upper school. We have no parents/family members representing Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade or 7th grade. It would be ideal to have a least one family representative from each class serving on Parent Council.

If a monthly meeting is more that you can do, please consider helping out with a Saturday activity, such as the Halloween Party for Pre-K through 4th grades or the Harvest Dance for grades 5 through 8.

Please sign and return the form below if you can help the school in any way. Thank you!
